{"id":544,"date":"2022-01-02T21:03:22","date_gmt":"2022-01-02T21:03:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/paychecknanny.com\/blog\/?p=544"},"modified":"2022-01-02T21:03:24","modified_gmt":"2022-01-02T21:03:24","slug":"wa-cares-act-delayed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/paychecknanny.com\/blog\/wa-cares-act-delayed\/","title":{"rendered":"Does the WA CARES Fund apply to my nanny?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><meta charset=\"utf-8\"> The <a href=\"https:\/\/wacaresfund.wa.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">WA Cares Fund<\/a> is intended for all employees, including household employees, in the state of Washington to contribute to support the access of long term care when needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">WA Cares Fund delayed<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Fund was <meta charset=\"utf-8\">scheduled to start collection on January 1, 2022.  <meta charset=\"utf-8\">However, this has now been postponed until at least April of 2022 while updates to the plan are being made. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/wacaresfund.wa.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wacaresfund.wa.gov<\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>The Legislature and Governor Inslee have\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.governor.wa.gov\/news-media\/inslee-billig-jinkins-statement-delaying-wa-cares-fund-premium-assessment\">announced plans<\/a>\u00a0to change and improve the WA Cares Fund during the 2022 legislative session, which is scheduled to conclude in March 2022.
